Lane's 1st Birthday

I have been gone from the blog for awhile. So much going on it seems. Little man is sleeping so I have a little bit of time right now.

We just celebrated Little Man's 1st birthday this week. Where did the time go? We were back in Kansas and my mom was gracious enough to put together a farm themed party for Lane. The cake was a bunch of cupcakes assembled in the shape of a tractor. Food was even farm themed. Fresh veggies from the "vegetable garden", corn on the cob, pigs in a blanket, potatoes.

`

When it was time for Lane to have his cupcake, he had a blast! He wasn't super messy, but he definitely enjoyed his cupcake. He also got to try ice cream for the first time. I'm thinking it was a little cold against his teeth because he'd cringe if it touched his teeth. He kept wanting more though.

He could have cared less when we sat down in the living room to open birthday presents. He mainly wanted to play with his cousins, which this time he was actually big enough and active enough to play with them. He got clothes, mega blocks (the big Legos for smaller kids), a few tractors, and also a Radio Flyer tricycle.

While we were back in Kansas for our very quick trip, Little Man also got is first haircut from Nana Judy. He didn't want to sit still at all for it. Good thing daddy kept giving him some snacks.

On the way back to Texas, we always stop at the same rest stop. I think it's going to become a tradition to take a picture of Lane in the same spot. For a 1-year old, Lane didn't really do too bad on the long trip. We'll see how he does again in April when we go back for when Matt and I get married.
